Your audio stays on your computer.

Sound Library indexes the audio files already stored on your computer. Your audio files are not uploaded or copied to our servers.

The app only connects to the internet to load sponsor information.

Free column reordering · safer deletes

  • Drag the Category, Subcategory, Description, and Location column headers into any order you like — your choice is remembered.
  • Removing a folder, excluding a subfolder, or deleting a collection now asks for confirmation first, showing how many items are affected. Previously these ran instantly on a single click with no way to undo — a stray click while quickly expanding a deeply nested folder tree could wipe an entire scan by accident.

Manual UCS tagging

  • Select one or more files, choose a Category/SubCategory from the official UCS list, add an optional Description, and Apply — safely renames with collision detection, undoable across multiple operations.
  • Category, Subcategory, and Description now show as sortable, searchable columns in the file list.
  • Recognizes files already following the official UCS naming convention (many commercial libraries) and shows their Category/Subcategory automatically — read-only, never renames or writes anything on its own.
  • New "keep current filename" option saves a tag without renaming, for libraries with their own naming convention.
  • UCS tagging is entirely manual and optional — nothing is auto-classified or auto-renamed.
  • Duration and Channel columns are now center-aligned.

Cleaner search, fewer freezes

  • Search no longer matches on folder names — a folder whose name happens to contain your search word no longer floods results with unrelated files.
  • Star filter, collections, and folder toggles no longer freeze the app for several seconds on large libraries — they now show a brief "searching..." state like the search box.
  • Clicking the sponsor bar now only opens the link when you click the actual sponsor text, not the surrounding empty space.
  • Fixed a waveform hint staying in the old language after switching EN/KO.
  • Clicking the Library Folders / Collections header or empty panel space now exits the active collection, alongside re-clicking the collection's own name.

Category tag filter

  • A row of category chips (impact, whoosh, explosion, and more) now appears below the search box, auto-detected from filenames.
  • Only categories actually present in your current search results are shown, sorted by how many matches each has.

Write your own description

  • Right-click any file → "Edit description…" to write a searchable description directly in the app — for files with no useful filename or metadata, like your own recordings.
