Fast Search

Search by filename, path, tags, and any metadata description already embedded in the file.

Exclude Search

Add "-word" to leave out unwanted results, e.g. scream -female. Matches whole words, so no false positives.

Write Your Own Description

For files with no useful filename or metadata, write a description yourself so it becomes searchable.

Waveform Preview

Preview sounds instantly without opening another application.

Tags

Add your own searchable keywords to your sounds.

Collections

Build custom sound sets from files across your library.

Drag & Drop

Drag sounds straight into Premiere Pro, CapCut, Cubase, Pro Tools, and more.

Drag Just a Region

Select only the part you need from a long file — and drag just that, not the whole thing.

Large Libraries

Designed to handle large personal sound libraries with hundreds of thousands of files.

Built for sound designers
and video creators.

  • Preview waveforms instantly.
  • Organize your personal library with Tags and Collections.
  • Drag sounds straight into Premiere Pro, CapCut, or your DAW.
  • Select only the part you need from a long file — and drag just that.

Your audio stays on your computer.

Sound Library indexes the audio files already stored on your computer. Your audio files are not uploaded or copied to our servers.

The app only connects to the internet to load sponsor information.

What's new

v1.1.8

Write your own description

  • Right-click any file → "Edit description…" to write a searchable description directly in the app — for files with no useful filename or metadata, like your own recordings.
Right-click menu with Edit description highlighted
v1.1.7

Search exclusion syntax

  • Add "-word" to a search, e.g. "scream -female", to leave out results containing that word.
  • Matches whole words, so "-male" won't also exclude "female".
Search results for "scream -female -woman -animal"
v1.1.6

Metadata search · faster typing

  • Search now reads embedded descriptions (BWF metadata) that pro sound libraries already write into their files.
  • Optimized search input so typing doesn't lag on large libraries.
v1.1.5

macOS support

  • First Apple Silicon build.
  • Per-library checkboxes to control which folders are included in search.
v1.1.4

Playback fixes · UI cleanup

  • Added AIFF/AIFC playback support.
  • General UI cleanup: resizable columns, sidebar layout, and more.

First launch

On Windows, SmartScreen may warn about a new app — click “More info”, then “Run anyway”.

On macOS, opening the app shows an “Apple could not verify” warning — click Done, then go to System Settings
Privacy & Security and click “Open Anyway” near the bottom.
(On macOS 12 and earlier, right-click the app in Finder and choose “Open” instead —
either way, it has to be done from Finder/System Settings, not Launchpad.)
